COURSE INFORMATION
The teachers in our team have degrees in the field of Humanities and experience in language teaching for adults.
There are on average between 5 – 12 students in a course.
In a course that’s already running, you can gladly do a free trial lesson.
Upon request, we’ll gladly provide proof of registration and/or a certificate of attendance.
The fee includes level assessment/placement tests, certificates, invoices, as well as study materials handed out in the lesson (excluding textbooks). Beyond that, there is a tea kitchen for everyone to make use of.
You can take a free level test with us in the office anytime or take it online on our website.
We will try as best we can to place you at the right level. If the course is still too easy or difficult, you may of course move to a more suitable course.
Of course, we don’t want you to lag behind! If you can’t come to class, we ask for a short message. In the confirmation email you will receive before the start of the course, we will tell you how to access the corresponding course information (course register/course materials). However, missed classes cannot be refunded or rescheduled.
GERMAN COURSE (DaF)
There are on average between 6 – 12 students in a course.
One teaching unit is 45 minutes.
It depends on the course that you select. Right now we have three different course structures.
Here’s an overview:
In an intensive course, you have 3 teaching units per day 4 days a week. That means 12 sessions per week. In 4 weeks you will complete a level in this format (e.B. A1.1).
In a semi-intensive course, you have 3 teaching units per day 2 days a week. That means 6 sessions per week. In 10 weeks you will complete a level in this format (e.B. A1.1).
You attend an evening course 2 times a week with 2 teaching units per day. Here you have 4 sessions per week and need 16 weeks for a level (A1.1).
For levels A1, A2 and B1 we use the textbooks “Netzwerk Neu” from Klett Verlag.
For levels B2 and C1 we use the textbooks “Aspekte NEU” from Klett Verlag. Further details about the textbooks (exact title, ISBN, and price) can be found on our German course pages.
The coursebook is a prerequisite for participation in the course. The books must be purchased by the participants themselves. But we are happy to advise you on where you can buy the books.
No, currently we don’t offer these services. But our courses do prepare you for these exams.
In all courses at all levels, teachers speak in German as much as possible. When necessary the teachers will clarify something in another language, spoken by participants.
Your coursebook, something to write with, motivation, and a good mood.
FOREIGN LANGUAGES (FS)
There are on average between 6 – 12 students in a course.
One teaching unit is 45 minutes.
An evening course takes place once a week and consists of 2 teaching units per session.
An evening course runs for 12 weeks and consists of 24 sessions.
INDIVIDUAL CLASSES (DAF AND FS)
One teaching unit is 45 minutes.
An appointment always includes at least 90 minutes, i.e. two teaching units. If you are interested, more units per appointment can be booked, but less than 45 minutes are not possible.
The fee includes level assessment/placement tests, certificates, invoices, as well as study materials handed out in the lesson (excluding textbooks).
You do not need a specific language level to register, as the individual sessions are tailored to you. Together with your teacher, you decide on the content and pace of the course.
Yes, this is also possible. You can also book individual sessions for two. In general, you can also register more people for a course. Depending on the number of participants, we then determine the total price and accordingly the price per person. It is only important that all participants have the same language level.
A price overview for individual lessons for up to two people can be found on our prices page. For a mini-group course of three participants or more, send us an inquiry via our contact form and we will then send you the price.
Yes, our teachers can prepare you for exams and also design special language lessons. There is a small surcharge for these lessons.
To register for an individual session, you can either come to the Sprachsalon during our opening hours or fill out a registration form online via our website. In addition, payment of the entire course fee is required.
In order to confirm the individual sessions, we need the payment for the first appointment at least 48 hours before the session. The remaining amount is then to be paid after the first session. Of course, you can also pay the entire amount before the first appointment. Payment can be made by bank transfer or in cash.
Booked appointments must be canceled at least 24 hours in advance by phone or e-mail, otherwise, they will be charged and cannot be made up.
Registration, course confirmation and course postponement
To register you can either come by during office hours to Sprachsalon or fill out a registration form on our website. In addition, the payment of the total course fee is necessary.
You can register for a course up until 10 days before the course starts. To do so the payment of the registration and course fees would be necessary. Once the payment of registration and course fees are confirmed a place in the course will be reserved.
Payment can either be made in cash in the office or be transferred. We will send banking details upon request.
If there aren’t enough confirmed participants by the end of the registration deadline, we have to postpone the start date of the course or cancel the course altogether. For this reason, it’s important for anyone who is interested in doing a course registers in time to ensure the course takes place.
Registration can be canceled up to 10 days before the start date of the course. The course fee will then be paid back in full via bank transfer. After the deadline cancellation will no longer be possible. Also if the student withdraws from the course a reimbursement of the fees won’t be possible.
A week before the course starts we’ll always send a confirmation email with all relevant information to all registered students. Should the course be postponed or canceled we will also send an email to all registered students.
Unfortunately, sometimes we have to postpone courses because we don’t have enough students. If your course is postponed you’ll be notified at the latest one week before the start of the course and informed of the new start date.
